After Rafa beat Serra 6-2 6-4 yesterday afternoon (the #63 ranked player, who's never even come close to taking a set off Rafa, so that result is hardly surprising), he was joined by Pico to play Bhupathi and Knowles, the #3 ranked doubles team in the world. Note: this is the first time Rafa and Pico have played a tournament together since July 05. They won 6-4 6-2. Rafa, I thought you were supposed to be tired XD But god, I saw a few little clips of the match and they were flying.

But I just noticed, if Jamie Murray and his Czech boy win their doubles match this morning... they'll have to play Rafa and Pico in the third round tomorrow.

That will put me in a very strange situation of... wanting Rafa to lose a match. And I don't just mean not minding if he wins or loses, which is my normal approach to him playing doubles, but... actively wanting his opponent to win. Coz Rafa is primarily a singles player, so if he loses in doubles it's no huge deal, it just means he can focus more on his singles matches. I mean, yeah, if he could win both the singles and the doubles here, he'd be the first player ever to do that, so it'd be pretty damn awesome, but... the doubles is all Jamie has, and he's been having a shit time of it lately, and he's the first tennis player I ever fangirled ever (when I saw him in the first round of the mixed doubles with Jelena at Wimbledon 07), and I really want him to do well. Coz he's adorable. And not scary like his brother. Tho apparently he's not flirting with his Czech boy as much as he did with Jelena XD They were the cutest, I kinda wish something had come of it coz they were so flirty last year.

All of that aside, they've got to win their match against the #8 team first *cheer for her 'dorable Scottish boy... who is currently just about managing to hold serve :\*

Oh, and as for his brother, I will be actively cheering against him today. Come on Andy, can you not let Nando have one win? Just the one? Just so he can get past his mental block of seeing you as unbeatable. Coz at the moment he's looking across the court and seeing you as a big fuck off brick wall with terrible hair. I honestly think that one win would be enough to break that, to at least make future matches close. Physically, he has the game to get into the top 10. Mentally? Not so much.
